Hello Ontario Birders....As Western NY Birders, many of us down here and
throughout NY State and beyond in the U.S. watch your postings of Owls and
other Raptors in particular at Amherst with keen interest and the resulting
temptation to make the trek there. I know that most of you must also be
seeing good numbers of waterfowl near the shoreline that is ice-free also,
but rarely mentioned. Possibly the island is locked in by ice, I just know
that when I have been there I have seen large numbers of Waterfowl along the
South Shores in particular. Just asking that you might also include these
sightings with your postings when at Amherst.
Thank you,
Bob Beal

Hi again:
I forgot to mention, we observed a male RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER a ways off
the trail leading into the Owl Woods, approximately 300 meters from the
feeders at the entrance.
