It seems like we're having an influx of these this winter. My wife and I
observed a single male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE among half a dozen or so COMMON
GOLDENEYE near the ice on Riopelle Island, just south of Bate Island, on the
Ottawa River. This is likely the same one that hangs around Remic Rapids (not
far from Bate Island).
Good birding!

DIRECTIONS: From Carling Avenue, turn onto Island Park Drive and follow to the
Champlain Bridge towards Québec. Watch for the small turn-off on the right
while driving onto the Champlain Bridge; there is a small sign for Bate Island
right before the turn-off.
