Ontbirders,

I had a single fly-over Yellow-rumped Warbler this morning in Beachville,
west of Woodstock.  Most of these mid / late March Yellow-rumps I dismiss as
local overwintering birds, but this bird was moving fairly high and fast and is
in an area that has never supported overwintering birds [the species is
genuinely rare as a winter bird in Oxford Co.]. Debatable I suppose although I
would venture it is a genuine migrant, albeit short-distance.

Other birds moving were Tundra Swans, with numerous flocks [all headed NW]
moving through in the mid-morning hours, totalling 400 birds. Local waterfowl,
recently arrived, include Gadwall, RN Duck, Wood Duck and Hooded Merganser.

If anyone wants directions for any of the above, please e-mail privately.

Cheers.
