A reminder to all birders that Eastern Loggerhead Shrikes are already
starting to make their way to their breeding grounds in Ontario. We would
greatly appreciate if you would report any sightings of this endangered bird
to Wildlife Preservation Canada on our toll free number 1-800-956-6608 or by
e-mail to [email protected]. WE ARE ESPECIALLLY INTERESTED IN
ANY BANDS SEEN. A majority of wild adults and all captive-release young
received individual 4-colour combinations last season. NOTE: birds wearing
RED OVER SILVER on the LEFT leg are 2009 captive release birds fitted with a
GEOLOCATOR and these birds need to be caught in order to remove the tag and
download information on migration routes and wintering grounds - therefore
prompt reports to us are critical. So PLEASE have a careful look for any
colour bands and report this with your sighting.

current recovery efforts, go to www.shrike.ca

Thank you in advance for your help.
