A well marked BLACK VULTURE passed over Rutherford Stevens Lookout in Prince
Edward County this morning at 10:00 a.m., floating lazily in the brisk wind
over Smith's Bay. Rutherford Stevens Lookout is located midway along County
Road 13, between Waupoos and Black River Cheese Factory.

Waterfowl is a little slow yet at Kaiser Crossroad, although Snow Geese,
Northern Pintails, American Wigeon and Northern Shovelers have been noted by
observers. This morning at 9:00 a.m. there were CANADA GEESE, AMERICAN BLACK
DUCKS, MALLARDS, RING-NECKED DUCKS and 1 GREATER SCAUP. A COMMON RAVEN was
feeding with CANADA geese in the cornfield across from the north pond. The
south pond is very poor this spring and contains little water.

Prince Edward County has four main access points - Trenton, Belleville,
Deseronto and Adolphustown (Glenora Ferry). From Picton, follow Bridge Street
and turn right onto Union which becomes County Road 8 to almost Waupoos. For
the vulture, if it's still in the area, turn right onto C.R. 13 and Rutherford
Stevens Lookout is on the left about a kilometre down the road. To reach the
Kaiser Crossroad site, from Waupoos follow County Road 8 east for 11 km.
