This morning at 8:00 there were three Red-Necked Grebe straight out from the parking lot at Shirley's Bay, in the west end of Ottawa. Later, at 10:30 am, I found one male Bluebird at the most northerly nesting boxes on Bowesville road. Tree Swallows are in abundance today and a few cowbirds.
Directions: The Shirley¹s Bay parking lot and boat launch is at the north end of Rifle Road which is on the north side of Carling Avenue west of Moodie Drive. For Bowesville Road: Travel south on Riverside until it becomes Limebank (new route), then left on Leitrem along the southern perimeter of Uplands Airport. Take the first right; this is Bowesville.
