Hi all.

This afternoon the dozen or so regular House Finches at my midtown feeder
(Bathurst and Eglinton) were joined by a handsome male Purple Finch. The
House Finches are mostly paired off: the females are begging to be fed, and
the males are obliging. (I always wonder whether these courting females are
reverting to childhood, or simply training the males for the job that will
come next.)

Good birding,
