There is a Red-necked Grebe nest with at least two eggs in Bronte
Harbour. This nest is not in the usual area. It is amongst the boats
attached to a white plastic float (likely a boat fender) that is
apparently anchored in some manner. The nest is easily visible from
shore just east of the picnic dock near the restaurant. No tires have
yet been put in place for the grebes.
Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Rd. (Oakville) and go to the lake
tuning left at Ontario St. then park near the Compass Lakeside Lounge &
Grill (formerly Lighthouse).
