For those west of Toronto, there is a very public osprey nest on top of a light
standard at the soccer pitch at the Badenoch crossroads. This nest was active
last year and the township had the light turned off so it didn't incinerate the
nest. It appears as if maybe the light fixture has been modified to accommodate
the ospreys a bit better, but hard to tell.

Directions: 401 west past Milton and Campbellville to the Morriston / Aberfoyle
exit (south = Hwy 6) / (north = Brock Rd, Cty Rd 46, to Guelph). Go south about
a km to the stoplight in the middle of Morriston (Change of Pace restaurant at
the corner and a surplus store on the opposite corner). Turn left (east) on
Badenoch Road. You will cross over the 401. The next crossroads is "Badenoch"
which is just a couple of houses, an old one room school, and the soccer field.
You can't miss the nest.

The birds have been in the nest a couple of weeks. These birds are associated
with the Mountsberg reservoir which is just over the 401. These birds are used
to soccer games, etc so won't spook.
