Well I just finished reading a post about Pelee vs. Rondeau and definately
thought I should touch base on the subject extremely briefly since I don't have
any birds to report.
I spent this past Saturday afternoon/Sunday/Monday at Pelee.
Birds: Yellow-throated Warbler, Hooded Warbler (several), Kentucky Warbler,
Prairie Warbler (2), Henslow's Sparrow, White-eyed Vireo (half dozen),
Worm-eating Warbler and these are just the highlights.
Nearby park: White-rumped Sandpiper, Marbled Godwit
I spent Tuesday at Rondeau. Rondeau has been mostly devoid of birds up till
Wednesday...
Birds: Hooded Warbler (2), Louisianna Waterthrush
Nearby park: Cattle Egret, Long-billed Dowitcher (5), Marbled Godwit (4),
Wilson's Phalarope (7+)
Rondeau is a great place for birding but I honestly don't think it will ever be
as good as Pelee no matter how many times I bird it.
MORE PEOPLE IS A GOOD THING! The more people at pelee, the more eyes and the
more rare birds that were seen. It is possible that pelee isn't as good as it
used to be, but really... it's still VERY GOOD!
Good Birding,
Andrew Keaveney
