Hey Birders,

Today bird activity picked up quite abit since yesterday. A 1.5 hour search
this afternoon failed to produce the female Blue Grosbeak. Another Louisiana
Waterthursh was seen at Fish Point at 12:30 this afternoon. A total of 21
species of warbler was seen throughout the island. At least 6 Canada's, 1
Mourning and 1 Orange-crowned were present. Good numbers of the 'common'
warbler species were also around. A single Clay-colored Sparrow was seen at the
tip of Fish Point this morning. 7 Black Terns, 1 American Golden-Plover, 10
Black-bellied Plovers, 3 Ruddy Turnstones, 10 Dunlin and 2 Common Goldeneyes
(the first record in over a month on the island) were also present at the tip.

A Yellow-throated Vireo was at Middle Point. The White-eyed Vireo was singing
again at the Winery. A few Philadelphia Vireo's also arrived. Flycatcher
numbers increased significantly; ~50 Least's and 10 Traill's were tallied.

The rain from yesterday flooded some fields along Centre Dyke and Henderson
Road. Shorebirds present included ~70 Black-bellied Plovers, at least 1
American Golden-Plover, 3 Ruddy Turnstones, 3 Dowitcher sp., 15 Dunlin and 1
Lesser Yellowlegs.

Whip-poor Will's are regularly being heard from the Municipal Campground and
along the East-West Road between the lake and Stone Road.

Good Birding,
Ken Burrell
