Hi,
Fog and light winds overnight may have contributed to a large number of
migrants in Thickson's Woods this a.m. Many thrushes, including a singing and
calling gray-cheeked: an abundance of warblers including many loudly singing
Tennessees, indigo bunting, scarlet tanager and red-eyed and Philadelphia
vireos. The winter wren that seems to have taken up residence continues to
sing. Didn't hear the Carolina wren this morning.

            Dennis Barry

Thickson's Woods is on the east side of Thickson Road at Lake Ontario. Exit
#401 to Thickson Road South. Go south to the Waterfront Trail. (Look for a
large green sign on your right saying, "Thickson's Woods Nature Reserve") Park
along the east side of Thickson Road and walk east downhill along the
Waterfront Trail. The woods entrance path is on the right, the entrance to the
meadow is to the left. There are trails through the woods to the lake as well
as through the meadow. Don't forget to add your sightings to the Jim Fairchild
memorial Mayrathon sightings book. (the brown binder; instructions are insde
the front cover)
