Best fall-out I've personally experienced in years.
Tons of warblers, many of them low, great views. Some highlights: several Tennessees and Parulas. Also, female Cape May. May Bay-Breasted. Vireos included Philadelphia, Warbling, Blue-Headed and Red-Eyed. Not so many thrushes, but did get Wood and Veery. Some other people had a cuckoo. Lots of birders, too, all of them smiling. Good birding! Jack Alvo Toronto Directions, courtesy of Dennis Barry: Thickson's Woods is on the east side of Thickson Road at Lake Ontario. Exit #401 to Thickson Road South. Go south to the Waterfront Trail. (Look for a large green sign on your right saying, "Thickson's Woods Nature Reserve") Park along the east side of Thickson Road and walk east downhill along the Waterfront Trail. The woods entrance path is on the right, the entrance to the meadow is to the left. There are trails through the woods to the lake as well as through the meadow. Don't forget to add your sightings to the Jim Fairchild memorial Mayrathon sightings book.
