Greetings: Four of us saw species number 111 at the wetland yesterday.
Two American Coots were in the south cell.

We are also witnessed an attack by a Mute Swan on a small family
of Canada Geese. The Mute started toward the small family and the male
Canada Goose led it away. When the Canada Goose left the north cell, the Mute
turned his attention of the female and the five very small gooslings.
Thankfully, she (the female) was able to get her little ones moved out of the
cell
before the "bully boy" got to them.

There has to be a new hatchling in the Osprey nest. The female got quite upset
with us even though we were well outside the restricted area.

Please keep an eye out for this very protective parent.

Maureen, Rod, Arlene and Dennis

The wetland is located exactly 7.2 kilometres at 11 County Road 64 south off
the 401 (exit 509)
