As of 9 an no Whimbrel were seen or heard at Colonel Samuel Smith Park.
Did see 5 Common Loons, 30 Dunlin and 20 White-winged Scoters. All were
in flight off the eastern headlands.
As has been previously mentioned the Center for Conservation Biology has
been tracked both satellite and radio tagged Whimbrel. There are three
data loggers for the radio tagged birds currently setup along the north
shore of Lake Ontario at two in Toronto (Colonel Samuel Smith and Tommy
Thompson Parks) and one down in Prince Edward County. For more
information (mostly about satellite birds) visit the following links

Here is a link to one of the satellite tracked birds Hope who has made
it to the Hudson Bay Lowlands. Look on the left side of the web page for
links to other birds.

Col Sam Smith Park is on the waterfront at the bottom of Kipling Avenue
in westend Toronto accessible from the Gardiner Expressway (traffic is
an issue). Park at the last parking lot and walk towards the lake.
Watchers congregate at the eastern headland.
