A severe weather warning sends most people indoors; birders on the other hand
head to the beach! This evening at Shirley's Bay there were 100+ Least
Sandpiper, 42 Semipalmated Plover, 4-5 Semipalmated Sandpiper, 5 Dunlin, 3
White-rumped Sandpiper (2 in alternate plumage, 1 in basic) and a female
Red-necked Phalarope. Also of interest was a Yellow-billed Cuckoo singing in
the woods at the base of the dyke.
Directions to Shirley's Bay can be found on Neily World.
