.While participating in the Carden Challenge we heard a single calling Chuck-will's-widow from 10:45 to 11:00 p.m. The Chuck-will's-widow was calling when we stopped. Later a Whip-poor-will started calling as well which emphasised the differences in the two calls. Have video recording of the call.
The bird was on Doyle Road east of Victoria Road (City of Kawartha Lakes Road #35. It was about 100 meters west of the first bend as you a travelling east from Victoria Road. The GPS coordinates are 663950 - 4942938 (NAD 83). Should be worth bonus points on the Carden Challenge.
