Hi All,
while doing some bird surveys in Prince Edward County this
evening, I found a Black-bellied Whistling Duck on a small pond south of
Milford,
this pond rarely has anything other than the usual Mallards and Killdeer
(plus cattle) on it but I stopped to look anyway. The BBWD was feeding and
then preening at the northern edge of the pond that is nearest to the road,
it then flew to the centre of the pond and continued to feed. This is a
first record for the county.

The two ponds can be found on the north side of the road about 2 km south
of Milford and 1 km west of the mariners museum along county road 10.

>From the LCBO in Picton, (hwy 33 and county road 10, west end of Picton).
Take county road 10 south through Cherry Valley to Milford, at the Post
Office in Milford turn right, south, and the ponds are about 2 km further
along
on a big bend to the left. The UTMS are 0333949, 4864390
