Hi all,

I was birding at Whitefish Island this afternoon and had a couple dozen
NASHVILLE WARBLERS, lots of AMERICAN REDSTARTS, a couple juvenile
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLERS, one MAGNOLIA WARBLER and one WILSON'S WARBLER. I
found a small flock of vireos which included RED-EYE, WARBLING and one
PHILADELPHIA. There was also a female RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD feeding on
jewelweed, two GRAY CATBIRDS and plenty of CEDAR WAXWINGS. The resident male
WOOD DUCK was still swimming amongst the MALLARDS, and a PEREGRINE FALCON was
by the bridge. My favourite find though was a GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER. He
was sitting in a birch overlooking the stream straight south of the lock, near
the second west beaver dam.
