On Monday afternoon I biked along Line 10 and 11 between Hwy. 10 and Side Rd. 15 north of Beeton. It was windy and the fields were dry (no visible pools). Yet, I found a few nice birds.
Baird's Sandpiper (7+30) Buff-breasted Sandpiper (4) American Golden-Plover (20+5) Northern Harrier (1) Merlin (1+1) ...and some large flocks of commoner birds: Red-winged Blackbird (100), European Starling (500+400), Mourning Dove (200), Killdeer (25+30) Directions: Beeton is located some 20 km west of Bradford, which is north of Newmarket. I don't know about driving, but starting from Bradford GO station it is a wonderful bike ride westward along Line 11 from Hwy 4. It takes 1-2 hours depending on whether you stop along the way. Good birding, Andreas Jonsson Toronto, Ontario _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
