The following shorebirds were present around 4 P.M. today, until a large 
Cooper's Hawk scared most of them away:
 
-1 Red Knot, juv.
-4 Pectoral Sandpipers
-3 Baird's Sandpipers, juv.
-1 Short-billed Dowitcher, juv.
-about 10 Semipalmated Sandpipers
-about 20 Least Sandpipers
-4 Lesser Yellowlegs, juv.
-2 Spotted Sandpipers, juv.
-2 Semipalmated Plovers

Directions: Exit 401 at White's Road and go south to Bayly then east until you 
see the Gingerbread Daycare Centre (a low brown building all by itself in a 
large parking lot) on your right (there is a sign for it on Bayly St.). Park in 
their parking lot and walk east from the SE edge of the parking lot and follow 
the trail to the marsh then cross  the creek  to the mud flats where the creek 
meets Frenchman's Bay. Boots required.
