At 10:15 a.m. this morning I observed and photographed a White-winged Dove
that was sitting on a hydro line by house number 5319 on County Road 13 in
Prince Edward Point. It flew across the road and landed on top of a Red Cedar
and then flew off again. The bird was observed for three minutes. A photo can
be seen at flickr.com/photos/borealbruce.
Only other birds of note was a small kettle of three Bald Eagles by the
lighthouse. Fourteen Common Buckeyes along Ostrander and Helmer Road was a
significant find. At the Amherstview Lagoons there was 1 Baird's Sandpiper, 6
Semipalmated Sandpipers, 5 Pectoral Sandpipers, 1 Short-billed Dowitcher, both
Yellowlegs, an early Bufflehead and a late Yellow Warbler.
Cheers
Bruce
