Hi birders, Last evening( sept. 14) an immature little blue heron was found by Paul Schoening at the Richmond Drive wetland in the west end of Cornwall. It was in the company of young great egrets where they roost and was again found this morning after the egrets dispersed feeding in the same area. I was not successful in getting a photograph but the green legs and greenish bill were well seen between 9-9:30 after which I picked up my wife Madeline and we again had a glimpse of it as it moved away from the tracks as a train came by around 11:45a.m. Beware of on going road construction along Richmond Drive! This wetland is just south of C.N.R. and west of Richmond Drive. This is north of county rd. 2 at Guidon Park. See map quest for directions or call 613-537-2193 for details.
