On the week= end of October 2 & 3, 2010, Long Point Basin Land Trust
will co-host a = new fall event for nature enthusiasts of all ages:
Autumn Eco-Fest & Hawkwatch. The fun-filled festi= val will take place
at the Long Point Eco-Adventures site which overlooks t= he Turkey
Point marsh and Lake Erie in <= st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Norfolk
County. The event promotes birding, hawkwatch= ing, and other
nature-related outdoors activities. Volunteers and staff wil= l be on
hand to provide information and to aid in bird and wildlife identif
ications, and to discuss conservation and natural history of the area.
The event s= chedule includes: hawkwatching demonstrations (Saturday
and Sunday, 10:00am= to 4:00pm); birding hikes (Saturday and Sunday,
10:30am); reptile identifi= cation workshops (Saturday, 2:30pm and
Sunday, 4:00pm); native plant worksh= op with tips on attracting birds
and wildlife (Sunday, 1:00pm). Full schedu= le available online as a

Autumn Eco-= Fest & Hawkwatch is a charity fundraising event, with
proceeds benefitt= ing the conservation programs of the Long Point
Basin Land Trust. There is = free admission to day-time festival events
with donations to the Land Trust= appreciated. Activities are planned
for all day Saturday and Sunday, as we= ll as a special Saturday night
presentation about the fall sky. (Saturday n= ight

special draws and pr= izes, including a $700 pair of binoculars donated
by Kowa Optics.

Autumn Eco-= Fest & Hawkwatch will take place at the Long Point
Eco-Adventures site = at 1730 Front Road (RR#2, St, Williams, Ontario).
From the Brantford area, follow Hwy = 24 south; continue south on hwy
24 south of Simcoe (becomes regional hwy 24= , and veers west, south of
town). Turn south on Regional Road 10 (Turkey Point Road) and then turn
west on Front Road, approx. 250m south of entran= ce to Turkey Point
Provincial Park campground. Long Point Eco-Adventures is located on the
so= uth side of the road, approximately 1km west of Turkey Point Road.
