Hey Lev I'm not subscribed to ontbirds would you mind posting this on my
behalf?

LeConte's Sparrow - North Lambton

Greetings birders,

I birded all day between Kettle Point and Grand Bend Sewage Lagoon today.

Kettle Point (9am - 130 pm)

3 Little gulls (2 imm. 1 ad.)
3 Red-throated loons
3 black scoters
6 white winged scoters
1 snow bunting
1 immature lesser black backed gull
1 adult great black backed gull
6 immature common terns

Grand bend Sewage Lagoon (afternoon - dusk)

Almost all shorebirds were in the first cell. The 4th cell had a few shorebirds
in it, while the 3rd cell had the most waterfowl action. If you just want to
see shorebirds I would just check out the first cell.

Shorebirds were similar in numbers to Jeff Skevington's post, plus a Wilson's
snipe. The Long-billed dowitcher was gone. The 2 juvenile Hudsonian Godwits
WERE still there. While leaving the lagoons, there is a weedy meadow just
before the gate. It was to my right that I happened upon a LeConte's sparrow,
just after passing a small pile of concrete slabs and just before getting to
the gate. It is a juvenile so it appears rather unusual and is also fairly
worn.

Good birding
