I visited Pittock Lake in Woodstock with Daniel Riley this morning. Large
flocks of Canada Geese flew in from the north between 9:00 and 11:00 AM. The
last flock contained two White-fronted Geese. Also present were 1100 Canada
Geese, 3 Cackling Geese, 2 Ruddy Duck, 8 Greater Scaup, Red-breasted and Common
Mergs, etc

All the geese were present at the west end of the lake, and the best views of
the Cacklers and White-fronteds were had from the little parking lot/beach at
the terminus of Huron street.

Coming from the east: Take exit 238 Hwy 2 west into Woodstock. Turn right on
Huron and follow it to the end of the road.
Coming from the west: Take exit 232 Norwich Ave north into Woodstock. Norwich
turns into Cedar, which turns into Wilson, which turns into Huron. Follow Huron
to the end of the road.

Good birding,
Josh Vandermeulen
