Around noon today there were 2500+ Snow Geese in the sod fields at the corner of Highway 138 and Lafleche Road, just south of Highway 417. There were some blue morphs in the group. There was a large flock on each side of Lafleche Road, one mixed with Canada Geese and the other mixed with Canada Geese and gulls.

Later in the afternoon around 4:00 pm, there were 80+ Sandhill Cranes in the fields off Smith Road just west of Milton Road (opposite house # 612). Initially we spotted a small group, then a larger group, then more flew in to join the larger group. They were quite a distance from the road but could be viewed with binoculars and even better with scopes. Two Snow Geese (one a blue morph) were among the Canada Geese in the same fields. We were not able to locate the Hudsonian Godwit last reported in the fields at Smith and Milton roads on October 19th.
