Yesterday, Oct 24, my wife and I were greeted by a charm of over 200 Pine
Siskins at the front gates of McRae Provincial Park! We were only able to
view them for about 10 minutes then they were gone and we couldn't relocate
them. It appeared like they were heading southward along the shores Lake
Simcoe. Other than that the park was really quiet and the only other
notable sightings were along the shore in a Horned Grebe, Bufflehead and a
small group of Goldeneyes.

McRae PP directions : Take Hwy 12 West from Orillia, turn right on Muley
Point Rd, then right on McRae Park Rd. The park is now closed for the season
so you can park at the gate and access the park on foot.
