Today Karl Dix and I birded the east pier of Port Weller, at the north end of 
the Welland Canal. Among the usual suspects was a small flock of very vocal 
snow buntings near the easternmost end of the pier. For those fortunate enough 
to have seen the sage thrasher a few years back, this is the same area.
