Weather: Overcast with strong SE winds 18-20 km/hr and high of 17C. Raptor Observations: Very few raptors. Only a few Sharp-shins along with a small group of Vultures that mostly glided back and forth along the lakeshore. An adult Peregrine went by at 11:58 EST. Non-raptor Observations: Twenty-six (26) Tree Swallows passed heading E into the wind and occassionally lingered to forage over the marsh; 2 N. Rough-winged Swallows zipped by heading W as well. A few (30) Chickadees still moving along with 24 Horned Larks and 11 Blue Jays. Also Winter Wren and fly-by Dunlin. Predictions: Sunny with strong SW winds 20-25 km/hr and a high of 18C. Vultures should be moving in the strong winds, but not many other raptors expected. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jim Pawlicki ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Migration Observatory information may be found at: http://hbmo.org/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
