I was working at Maston Produce today, at the corner of County Road 18 and
County Road 31, on the Kingsville side of the dividing line between the Town
of Leamington and the Town of Kingsville. Shortly after 10:00 a.m. 2 Cattle
Egrets flew into storm water retention pond of this large greenhouse
complex. They were still there at noon. They were catching and eating mice
and whichever bird did not have a mouse would jump on the back or head of
the other bird trying to steal its mouse. The municipal address is 2100
County Road 18, Kingsville, accessed from Talbot Street West west of the
Town of Leamington, but the Egrets are on private land and cannot be seen
from either of the roads. A picture will be posted to the OFO photo gallery
editor.
