This morning at about 9:00 am, two white-winged crossbills flew over my head and landed briefly at the top of a pine tree at the SW corner of the Arboretum (right near the entrance). They continued heading South after a couple of minutes, making their distinctive flight-calls. Not much else of note in the Arboretum this morning, at ton of Black-capped Chickadees, Juncos, Goldfinches, Robins, and a few American-tree Sparrows.
Good birding, Jesse Directions: The arboretum is located on the far East side of the University campus. Turn right (if coming from Gordon St.) or left (if coming from Victoria Rd.) off of College St. onto East Ring Rd. Head past East Residence and the townhouses and turn left just before the parking lot, the entrance to the arboretum is just past the parking lot. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
