I returned with my camera to the Central Experimental Farm and the Bohemian Waxwings were still there. Earlier today I reported that several had been killed by cars as the large flock had landed on the road. I could not stop earlier but when I returned I discovered that they were drinking water from the road undoubtedly laced with salt as there was freezing rain in Ottawa overnight and the road was salted.
