Weather: Partly cloudy and cold (high of -2C) with strong SW winds 22-24 km/hr with gusts to 30. Raptor Observations: Only 4 Red-tails, all of which were moving the right direction (west and slowly), although 1 or 2 may have been locals. Non-raptor Observations: Very few birds other than gulls or ducks flying around in the cold temps and high winds. Only birds really of note were 18 Bonaparte's Gulls, 10 Horned Larks, and 4 Am. Goldfinches, all moving west. Predictions: Partly cloudy with a 30% chance of snow flurries. Wind W 30 km/hr becoming light early in the afternoon with a high of 4C. Should be a few more raptors on the move once the wind calms down, although difficult to say. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jim Pawlicki ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Migration Observatory information may be found at: http://hbmo.org/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
