Hi Ontbirders,

This morning we drove to Deep River and the female Summer Tanager was on the feeder when we arrived at about 9.15 am, just as the rain was starting. The homeowner, Allan Symons, said it was first seen at about 8.30 am and has been coming to the feeder for about two weeks.

The feeder can be seen from the road and the driveway and the bird allowed us to slowly approach it along the side of the house to a small gate.

From the post of Jim Ungrin: Allan is at 20 LeCaron (613-584-2657) when not
at the Canadian Clock Museum (613-584-9687), which he operates. He is happy to accept visitors at the feeder in his back yard.

Directions:

Deep River is about two hours west of Ottawa on Highway 17. Approaching Deep River from the east on Highway 17 turn right on Banting Drive. After passing the hospital turn left on Hillcrest Avenue. The fourth street on the left is LeCaron. No. 20 is on the left.
