The two Ross's Geese just flew west along the lake with a big flock of Canadas.
I did not see them land. Not long after, two flocks of Sandhill cranes
totalling 55 birds flew over my car heading northwest. Two Cackling Geese were
sitting on the water with a big group of Canadas near house number 105 at the
west end of Erie Beach. Also, a flock of 200 plus snow buntings in a field
north of Erie Shore Drive had a couple of lapland longspurs mixed in. Take
county road 12 to McGeachys Pond. Turn onto Lakeshore\ Erie Shore, heading
west. The geese could be anywhere along here or farther west, on the lake or in
the fields. Good birding, Josh Vandermeulen
