Sunday on the Buffalo Ornithological Society Christmas Count in Section B, which is bordered on the north by Chippewa and Lyons Creeks, on the east by the Niagara River, on the south by Black Creek, and on the west by the Queen Elizabeth Way, Nadine Litwin and I had 35 species and 1848 individuals including: 13 Hooded Mergansers 44 Wild Turkey (section high) 1 Common Loon (in the Niagara River close to shore a kilometer south of Chippewa Creek) 2 Sharp-shinned Hawks 2 Belted Kingfishers 2 White-throated Sparrows 44 Red-winged Blackbirds (section high) 1 problematical Pine Siskin Best Wishes for Great Birding, Bill Watson _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
