Arriving at 11.30 am, found the Hawk Owl immediately at roadside on Co. Rd. 6
west of Dalrymple just east of turnoff at #46.
Afterwards drove n. on #46 to #45 (Monck Rd.) . Headed east until reaching
Digby-Laxton Boundary Road. Near corner saw 2 Ravens. Drove south on boundary
road for only 1 km. Many juniper bushes on both sides of road held a huge
number of Bohemian Waxwings. At one point two flocks of 200 + flew over. One
group of 250 fed on sand on the road. An adult Northern Goshawk flew over.
Driving further south on this road, found a flock of 500 Bohemians in a
deciduous tree opposite house #235. The birds seemed to be feeding on Red and
Scotch Pine buds.
Later went left (east) at Victoria Rd/#35. Just past a blasting operation, saw
another 150 Bohemians feeding on low juniper bushes.
Farther south, just below Curls Road, saw 60 Snow Buntings in a field.
Just north of Lindsay on # 35, a Merlin flew across.
