Good morning Ontbirders, Canadian Migration Monitoring Network (CMMN) stations across the country, many of which are in Ontario, are looking for birders and banders who are interested in gaining the experience of a lifetime volunteering or working for the birds. Visit the CMMN web-site - http://www.birdscanada.org/volunteer/cmmn/ for more information about stations near you and opportunities offered. Population trends, seasonal abundance graphs, and other summary statistics from the CMMN are available from Nature Counts at www.naturecounts.ca. Bird Studies Canada's Long Point Bird Observatory (LPBO) and Thunder Cape Bird Observatory (TCBO) are accepting applications for numerous volunteer opportunities available for the migration monitoring program, breeding bird census project, and Tree Swallow research projects. LPBO is also offering a new Internship position for more experienced individuals. For more information about the volunteer opportunities or the Internship visit Bird Studies Canada's job opportunities page - www.birdscanada.org/about/jobs or contact LPBO at [email protected]. The countdown to the one millionth bird banded at LPBO begins. Details and highlights from the migration season and programs are available on our Sightings Board or the LPBO E-news accessible at - www.birdscanada.org/longpoint.
