all though the Slaty-backed gull on the ice in Whitby harbor. Dos have Streaking on the head and neck, pink legs(???) and about equal size to herring gulls. it wood seem to be lacking the under wing markings !! as seen in some great photos that wear tackin today ..
this is not saying it is a LBBG and its a good bird to go look at but just a warned if your coming from a long distance to look for this bird I wood wait until the experts see the photos latter today .. the Harlequin was still there seen just east of the per Directions to Whitby harbor for Harlequin duck or gulls. Exit the 401 at Brock St. And head south. There is a parking lot on the right when you get to the base of Brock.
