Now that we've got some clear weather and the roads are better, interest in the evening grosbeaks at my place has picked up again.
I'm receiving a number of emails asking if they are still here so I just wanted to let everyone know that they are still here in decent numbers (I counted 42 this morning with more still talking in the trees). If you can, you should try to get here before noon. The birds are most active from 7 am. to noon and start to disappear at 1 pm. By 2 pm, they are gone for the day. That said, the flock of redpolls (count of 300 on Sunday) is active all day long so you'll still see something if you don't get here in time for the grosbeaks. My address: 1545 Monck Road, Uphill My house is on the north side just east of the intersection of Victoria Road and Monck Road in the village of Uphill. Your GPS will likely send you to Sebright which is actually almost 20 minutes west of where you need to be. Feel free to use the driveway. Monck Road is a busy highway with very fast drivers so be very careful when pulling off. As always, please be very aware of the neighbours as the folks in this area can be a bit tetchy about birders.
