The White - crowned Sparrows Ron Fleming mentioned in his report will need to be especially watchful because there is also a Merlin hanging about the corner of Day Street and Devald Road in the Holland Marsh and it seemed to be actively patrolling the roadside shrubs. I also had a Northern Shrike on the power line at the end of Bathurst Street which proceeded to capture and dispatch a fairly large vole which he could barely "drag" in laboured, fluttering flight to the nearest perch. As per Ron's directions, Devald Road is east of Hwy. 400 and south of Canal Road and Bathurst runs north of Queensville Sideroad east of Yonge Street.
