Yesterday March 8th Ian Cannell, Margaret Liubavicius and I drove some of the
roads south of Hagersville both on the way down to and on the way back from
Long Point and following are some of the birds we found there.

Tundra Swans overhead – 1000 – these birds were flying towards Long Point in
the evening and continued even after it was completely dark out, they could be
heard overhead as flock after flock passed along with probably 300 Canada Geese
and 300 Mallards.
We also found N. Harrier, Rough-legged and Red-tailed Hawks, Kestrels and an in
your face Merlin, 4 each of Eastern Screech and Short-eared Owls, 22 Horned
Larks, 75+ Crows and Red-winged Blackbirds. On the way from Long Point we also
spotted 23 Wild Turkeys along Hwy 24.

Directions:-

To get to the Fisherville area you can drive along Hwy 6 south of Hamilton to
Hagersville (north of Jarvis). In the centre of Hagersville turn southeast on
County Road 20 and drive down past Hwy 3 and you are in the Fisherville area.
Drive any of the roads west of County Road 20 and check the roadsides, fields
and trees.
