Further to the message from Dennis Lewington, we also saw the Bald
Eagles in the tree at Nanticoke. All but one were immature.

We returned to the Longpoint Causeway from Nanticoke at around 5:30 and the Tundra Swans from the surrounding area were flying in to roost on the patches of open water on both sides of the causeway. When we left at dusk
there were thousands of swans.

Other sightings in the region included many very large flocks of male
Red-winged black birds, male Grackles, female Cowbirds, a male
Bluebird and many Horned Larks.

We also saw the ducks in the field at Lee Brown Marsh. The species we noted were a Pintail, Redheads,Blue-winged Teal and American Wigeon.

One of the highlights of the day was a River Otter ambling on the ice
at the end of the pier at the Port Rowan Marina.
