Hi birders, The two ROSS'S GEESE reported by Michael Tate were viewed by a large group of birders between 12:30 and 1pm. The road turns into a driveway which might be easy to miss. The driveway is quite narrow so people have driven on the grass a little to turn around and the owner of the property didn't seem too pleased about that. There is some space to park right at the end of the road before the driveway. So please respect the property owners privacy and property. There was also a Leucistic Canada Goose there.
A SNOW GOOSE was also found nearby and was viewed from Century Road between Fourth Line & Third Line. This was at noon today. Two GREEN-WINGED TEAL, an AMERICAN WIGEON and several NORTHERN PINTAIL were there as well. In addition, there were 2 more white geese seen from Fourth Line between Brophy Drive and Century Road. They were east of Fourth Line in a large flock of Canada Geese (the largest flock of Geese that we saw all day). Coordinates: 45.18625,-75.771124 The identification of these white geese was uncertain due to the distance. At the same location a SANDHILL CRANE flew over, a GREEN-WINGED TEAL and several NORTHERN PINTAIL were seen. KILLDEER were heard in several locations. I'll have photos posted tomorrow evening on my website. Good luck, Alvan Buckley Toronto, ON www.alvanbuckley.com _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
