I received a report that this evening a very large flock flew into the Bourget area at 6:00 p.m. They settled into fields east of Rue Labelle, east and a bit north of Bourget (about a kilometre or more north of Russell Rd). These are likely the birds that have been seen on the Ottawa River at L'Orignal in the past few days. This is one of the areas in the northeast that has traditionally been favoured by the birds for feeding. They have also used the fields (often flooded) a kilometre down Russell Rd.
