Went down to Colonel Sam Smith park this morning at the bottom of Kipling ave
and saw the Western Grebe and the Eared Grebe, also past where the Eared Grebe
was hanging was a male Harlequin duck with some Goldeneye, need a scope to see
it (thanks Gary Comb for finding it). Also saw here many red-necked and horned
grebes, 2 purple martins, tree swallows, 2 common loons and in the woods just
below the college saw a yellow-belllied sapsucker, golden-crowned kinglet and
brown creeper. Then went to Humber Bay Park East to try for the 5th grebe of
the day, Pied-billed and found one in the marina just north of the parking lot.
Also here saw my first field sparrow and caspian tern of the year and lots of
ruddy ducks, very good day to be out birding, too bad about the fog

Colonel Sam Smith is at the end of Kipling south of Lakeshore Blvd. Exit the
Gardiner at Kipling and go south. Humber Bay Park East is further east along
Lakeshore at Park Lawn Road
