Not sure who may be interested in hearing about banded Caspian Terns. 3 Caspian Terns observed on the pier in Port Dover today. Two of them were banded.
Bird #1 had a buff/yellowish or stained white plastic band on the left foot, possibly showing #26? Bird #2 had two plastic bands on the left foot, one buff/yellow and a second greenish/brown. Some sun may have helped with the colours! No bands for either bird on the right foot. A few Mallards, a few Red-breasted Mergansers, a few Herring gulls, and a few Bonaparte's gulls.
