Just before noon today in southern Prince Edward County (Point Petre-East lake general area) I had a Western Meadowlark sitting in a field on the northeast side of Kelly and Rankin roads.

Directions (from Picton)

Take County rd 10 south to Cherry Valley. In Cherry Valley follow the road straight onto county rd 18 (cty rd 10 turns left here) Follow county rd 18 approximately 6 km to Rankin road. Turn left(south) onto Rankin Road and follow it until it meets Kelly road. There are alot of hayfields and pastures in this area so the bird may be moving around. Also in same area are Eastern Meadowlarks, Eastern Bluebirds, American Kestrels and the Soup Harbour Ospreys returned to their pole (Kelly and Wellbanks Road).

Point Petre area
861 Bonaparte's Gulls (checked every last one looking for Little Gulls with no success)
Rusty Blackbirds 3 and most of the usual mid april migrants in the woods

Other Sightings
Ospreys, most nests between Brighton and Bath are now occupied. A few nests not used last year have new tenants.
Purple Martins Several locations in Prince Edward County
Merlin in Wellington
