Further to Josh's report for us, Erika and I saw the drake Common Teal on Old Hwy 24 in a flooded field directly south of house #545. The Common Teal was laying just on the edge of water beside several other drake Green-winged Teals, and with my scope you could clearly see the field marks that separated the Common Teal from the Green-winged Teals. There was roughly 40 Green-winged Teals, a pair of Blue-winged Teal and 4 Northern Shovelers also present in the flooded field accompanying the Common Teal. Also in the Long Point area Erika and I had a Northern Goshawk that flew across the Causeway as well we had Basic plumaged Little Gull flying around with the Bonaparte's Gulls in the Inner Bay. Despite the weather conditions birding was alright in Long Point Provincial Park, we basically had most of the typical migrates for this time of year. Also on our way home we stopped at the Brantford Golf and Country Club in Brantford for the American White Pelican reported by Bill Lamond. Apparently this bird has been there for over a week now and was easily viewed from the parking lot. For directions you can easily find the Brantford Golf and Country Club on Google maps or by GPS.
